
Widows and Economic Empowerment Foundation (WEEF) is a non-governmental organization incorporated on 16th May, 2008. It emerged after its Chairperson, Rhoda Fwanje Zakka’s tenure as Chairperson of Nigerian Air Force Officers Wives Association (NAFOWA). Most of those who had benefitted from NAFOWA’S activates during her tenure and were now able to support themselves independently encouraged others to link support these category of poor women on continues basis.

WEEF empowers widows, orphans, and disadvantaged children through vocational training, ICT education, micro-credit schemes, and welfare support.
Though the organization targets widows, their wards and other underprivileged persons. WEEF programmes also cover other disadvantaged women and girls.
Beneficiaries would discovered themselves to the extent that they would be more productive and self-reliant. Consequently, they would be able to earn from their entrepreneurial effort.
The WEEF Scholarship Programme is designed in collaboration with Zibeh Institute of Technology to provide financial assistance to deserving students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, and a commitment to social development. This initiative aims to support Widows’ wards and individuals from underprivileged backgrounds in pursuing higher education, empowering them to contribute positively to their communities. The programme seeks to foster future leaders who will actively participate in social change and development.
